The Snowy Day

This morning, I woke up to the beautiful sight of snow falling right outside my window!! I can’t even remember the last time it snowed like this. I felt like a little kid again, even checking to see whether or not school was cancelled. My parents weren’t quite as excited as I was. Sure, snow makes driving more difficult and shoveling the driveway isn’t the most entertaining activity. There are, however, many fun things you can do, both indoors and out, on a snowy day like today.
Play in the Snow
Revisit your childhood youth and go outside to play. Call up your friends and make snow angels. If there’s a giant hill, go sledding. When there are forts, start a snowball fight. So, head on over to your friend's house, knock on his or her door and sing, “Do you want to build a snowman? Come on let’s go and play.”

Watch a Movie
The great outdoors are not for everyone, so staying in to watch a movie is a perfect alternative. You can sit back and watch a movie or a TV show that you’ve been dying to see or one that you can’t get enough of. Pop some popcorn, take your pick, and you’re on your way to a relaxing afternoon.

Read a Book
This is your opportunity to start or catch up on a good read. Just this morning, I sipped green tea while perusing Thought Catalog; now, I'm about to start Dave Egger's A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. There’s no cozier feeling than being curled up on the couch with a book in one hand and hot beverage in the other. Trust me.

Bake Sweets
Whether you’re drinking coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, you’re going to want a delicious snack to go with it. So, use this time to bake your favorite pie, cake, or whatever dessert you fancy. If you played in the snow, you earned it. If you didn’t, it’s still the holidays, so treat yourself.

Whatever you decide, take advantage of your magical, snowy day!
